Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2002
Production

Taittinger uses the méthode champenoise for their champagne production. The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2002 is composed of 100% Chardonnay grapes. The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Prestige Cuvee is often sourced entirely from crus of the Cotes Des Blancs. 5% of the blend has aged for up to 4 months in oak barrels with 1/3 of the barrels replaced yearly. Only first press juice is used in the production. The Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is primarily sourced from the grand cru villages of Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger with additional grapes coming from 5 or 6 other grand and premier crus. The Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2002 is sourced from the finest vines and aged almost 10 years on the lees before disgorgement. Grapes were harvested from mid to late September.
